SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL PROJECT FOR GRAPHICULTURE
2007
A promotional piece for Graphiculture intended to showcase their photo direction, concepting and design capabilities. The premise of the book looks at the debate between the printed word and digital publishing. It casts the two mediums as an older man and a younger woman who, through a series of letters and conversations, avoid the debate over which will stand the test of time and instead fall hopelessly in love with each other and the traits each one brings to the realm of reading. The story is illuminated further in a series of photos showing the digital “Communicata” exploring the world of the book. This over-sized piece mixes historical and analog with modern and electronic throughout its engineering, paper stocks, typefaces and design elements.
