This season’s shoes pulled directly from Nina’s 1980s archive, and thus, this shoot looked to the best fashion advertising of that era referencing the work of Guy Bourdin. We then mixed this look with the saturated color-blocking fashion trends of spring 2008. Because Nina shoes were being increasingly placed with high-end brands, we took a more conceptual approach to the content of the ads and increased the production values significantly. We combined a custom set of red lacquered luggage with specialty-finished Plexiglas and dramatic lighting to push Nina’s theme of “Everyday Glamour” further up the high fashion ladder.
